About the Author

I grew up with two sisters in Beaver City, Nebraska a small town in the Midwest. In 1985 I moved to Gilbert, Arizona where I met my husband, Leonard and together we operate a small farm and a retail business www.desertwaterandice.com

With our busy lives, I had forgotten what it was like to have that youthful imagination until a few years ago, a special little boy entered our lives and changed all of that. Together we would sit for hours making up imaginary stories with adventurous characters. His eyes were intrigued as the stories evolved, adding a little something of his own imagination to each story. A couple of years ago, thoughts of creating a continuing series of children’s books was always flowing through my mind, so one evening while my husband was watching his favorite movie, I picked up a pen and paper and started jotting down my thoughts, drafting the first book. Several days later, I read what I had written to my husband, and he was amazed with what I had created. Therefore, with his encouragement, he pushed me to pursue my idea and dreams and finish my stories. Before long, that youthful imagination was pouring into each book and Colton’s Pocket Dragon books were born. 

Colton's Pocket Dragon books are a continuing series of children’s short stories about a little boy that finds an egg that hatches revealing a dragon with special powers. They fly off on exciting adventures, in search of one Colton’s favorite animals or places, where they encounter all kinds of creatures to fight along the way. Colton’s main goal on each adventure is to save his new, found friend from the monsters; where he has to create weapons from anything he finds along the way, to aid in the return of his friend back home to his family. Oh, what adventures Colton and the pocket dragons have with each story.

Now my dream has come true and Colton’s Pocket Dragon Book 1:Dragon Land, Book 2: Iggy the Bigfoot, Book 3: Skylar the Dinosaur, Book 4: Meeting Santa Claus, Book 5: Tansy the Abominable Snowman, Book 6: Heaven are now available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  I have just finished writing Book 7: Max the Race Car and Book 8: The Dream. I am currently working on Book 9.

I hope to instill the excitement of imagination in young readers, as well as the adults sharing in these fun filled, adventurous stories with endearing characters as much as I have enjoyed writing them. 

Always remember to keep that youthful imagination because:

                                                               because of all the children on earth,

                                                                he’s picked you to be his friend.

                                                           Strong and true your friendship will be,

                                                              so when he flies back to his world,

                                                                               please don’t cry, 

                                                              for he will return again to fly with you.
